Members der oxenrig
Partly because if I found one it'd probably be fairly cheap, it's still be very close in quality to a Gibson, it's a lawsuit copy, so i'll have a collection, and the lawsuit basses have slightly fatter necks, which I prefer, especially to the ultra slim T-bird necks that go CRACK when they neck-dive. I think that'll be one of my bass-goals in life, to have a large Ibanez lawsuit guitar & bass collection. That'd be pretty sweet, I think.

Members beam
It's kind of inaccurate to call every Ibby copy a "lawsuit" bass. "The actual lawsuit referred to was brought by the Norlin Corporation, the parent company of Gibson guitars, in 1977, and was based on an Ibanez headstock design that had been discontinued by 1976. Ibanez settled out of court, and by 1978 had begun making guitars from their own designs." So that P-bass copy you have, really isn't a lawsuit at all. However, this T-bird very well could be. It is a damn nice looking bass, I hope you can land one if you find it Just check ebay daily for Ibanez Bass, I'm pretty sure that's what Jugghaid did to grow his collection The Epi Elitist look very similar to it, btw. Members der oxenrig
Something about the Epi Elitist doesn't look quite right to me. Maybe it's all the gold hardware, and the fact it doesn't have the tune-o-matic bridge (but then again neither do current day T-birds).
Members no-logic
Ox: I've been looking for one of those for 3 years now. I bet if you find one it will bring close to what used Gibby does.

Members Swole78
Hello, I'm new to this site... happened to see this post... I know it's like 6 years old, but I actually own an original, early '70's Ibanez Thunderbird Bass... I'm in the process of refinishing it because the guy I got it from, basically destroyed it... broke the neck (good luck finding one of those) and damaged the body pretty bad... to top it off, it was painted with white Latex house paint... terrible shame... but I got it!!!! If anyone responds to this, I will gladly post some pics!!!

Members The Lurker
I have an Orville one (Gibson design manufactured in Japan under license). It crushes any other Thunderbird I've touched. The pickups are superb. Don't limit yourself to Ibanez ones-- a lot of the stuff manufactured under a lot of 'lawsuit' names like Greco, Ibanez, Electra, Aria, etc. were all made in the same plant (Matsumoku). Ibanez was not made at Matsumoku, They where made in Matsumoto, at the Fuji Gen plant (I think), which could easily be mistaken when read.
Members amimbari
this Hamer-Bird has been on ebay forever still trying to get over a grand for it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170603267780 Here's another rare-bird that you just don't see anymore: here's an old mid-2000's Dillion version: . Members Rezrover
I've been looking at non-Gibson/Epi Thunderbirds lately, something with a P-J pick-up scheme. I just redid a Hamer Scarab, new everything from pots, pick-ups & wiring to a new paint job.

Members tommorichards
tremelo? On a bass? That thing must have car suspension springs.
Members amimbari
no huge springs silly, the 7410 IS made for bass here's my gold 7410 and my black 2410: I'd toss a Kahler on my TBX, ( the black Jackson Tbird with the binding in the previous picture ) but it would kill it's rarity.
