Members bazzman
Hello, I play the bass in a rockcoverband in Europe-Belgium. Last time I only play 5-str. on my first 5-string Vantage 750B. Now I'm searching for a better 5-string not to expensive. Anyone experience with the Musicman SUB5 ? Or have you an alternative, depending on the songs we play? Check the playlist the band's site:http://www.mr-linoleum-licker.be/ Thanks
Members sunburstbasser
Do you have a nearby Cort dealer? Try out an A5 or a B5, depending on your budget. Really nice 5 string basses. I like the SUB a lot, but the MM sound doesn't really sound like a good hard rock type sound to me. It may work great for you. Playing the 4-string model sounded as close to a Stingray as anything I've heard.
Members illidian
I preferred an OLP to the SUB I played. Granted, the OLP was a smoking bass, but the SUB got close to the OLP - until I remembered the prices.

It smoked almost everything at the shop that was $900 or less - the Geddy Lee and G&L Tribute L2000 were able to keep up.
