Members GPD Posted September 24, 2005 Members Posted September 24, 2005 I've always been on the fence about Warwicks. This is due in part to the fact that so many no talent assclowns nu-metal emo poser rock bass players are playing Warwicks. Tell me everything bad you can think of about the Warwick Jazzman because the user reviews on HC are pretty worthless.
Members 4string Posted September 24, 2005 Members Posted September 24, 2005 I owned a Warwick FNA Jazzman, other than having to wax the body and neck twice a year it was great. I traded in a MIA Jazz bass and for the first few months it seemed like a good move but I started regretting it after a while. I played the Warwick for 2 years before trading it for a Music Man. I have had the Music Man for 5 years now and don't regret trading the Warwick. Having said all that, if I ever have enough extra money, I will buy another Warwick, probably fretless. My 2 cents.
Members mounds Posted September 24, 2005 Members Posted September 24, 2005 I think there are probably more no-talent assclowns playing cheaper fender, ibanez and squier basses-- on that note, i don't think it's a good reason to be iffy about a good instrument. it should be more about how it plays and less about who plays them. my two cents.

Gee, I guess I'll have to buy an Alembic next. I haven't seen a no- talent ass clown playing one.

Hey, I have an Ibanez bass! I attempted to qualify my statement and ask for reviews from those who've actually owned/played a Warwick Jazzman. I have a Fender J Bass and an Ibanez Artcore ASB140. I need the jazzier funkier bass and the Warwick seems like a pretty good fit.The user reviews are for {censored} so I'm looking for some more input. I appreciate your candor though and I do agree that sound is the most important.
Members bholder Posted September 24, 2005 Members Posted September 24, 2005 The best reason for not buying a Warick Jazzman is because that body style is ugly as hell. Get a Corvette and replace the pickups.
Members zenfascist Posted September 24, 2005 Members Posted September 24, 2005 It doesn't matter who's playing them and who isn't. What does matter is that you enjoy playing the instrument and it enhances your playing experience. Although sound is an important factor, for me sound comes a close second because it's a lot easier to alter the sound of a bass than how it plays and feels.
