I'm sure you can just dump the treble and mid and boost the low to get that tone. Using a pick would probably help the muted fast sections. Unfortunately the mix wasn't clear enough for me to discern any more about the tone. I gave a few repeated listens to attempt to understand the lyrics but failed, it makes me wonder way the artists chose to garble his work? I would assume a songwriter would enjoy relaying the message of the song, and if its all about the music then drop the vocals, however that is my analysis.

Maybe hes singing about how good cupcakes are and the lyrical content wouldn't fit in? So he garbles it up and people listen and go "ooh, scary!"

it's pretty {censored} examples of metal, please don't generalize based on crap like this. :)

bands that use binary code for riffs suck.

truth. meshuggah are pretty much the best band in metal these days. of course, i prefer progress instead of constant rehash, which is why i make such claims. :)

rgr. I own all their major releases, with Chaosphere being my favorite, followed by Catch-33, followed by nothing :)

swedish bands on the whole really dominate. In Flames, Soilwork, The Haunted, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquility all kill. The Haunted is one of my absolute favorites. Peter Dolving > *
