Members i_wanna_les_paul Posted September 27, 2005 Members Posted September 27, 2005 I was wondering how your G&L and SRX compare in tone. I've always wanted a G&L, but now that I have an SRX 700, I'm wondering if I'm really missing anything. So I was wondering how close they sound to each other. I know the G&L has a treble boost, passive switch and a series/parallel toggle, but I'm more curious as to how the tone compares. Thanks! Dustin

Dustin Believe it or not, the SRX700 and SRX505 should sound quite a bit different. The 700 is an neck-thru with an Ash body and Alinco pups, the 505 is a bolt-on with a basswood body and ceramic pups. I Haven't really played with a 700 but from the way it's built, I'd suspect it sounds more like my G&L than my SRX505.
