Members claurt
i recently bought a 69 Gibson EB-0 and i want to put a jazz bass pickup at the bridge. Is this the best choice of pickup and if so, what models are good?
Members fretless
if it's a clean instrument or fairly clean , a mod like that will greatly cut it's value , I might suggest you get another bass and leave that as is , but if it's a real beater than sure pretty much anything could be put there . Members Jazz Ad
J pickups tend to give poor results with a short scale bass.I'd go with something beefier. At least, make sure you use a humbucker in J size.

Members BigPigPeaches
I'm surprised lug hasn't weighed in on this, but I can offer my opinion: nothing you do will improve the tone of an original EB-O. Unless you plan on dropping it off a cliff. Which will only improve it marginally. And temporarily, as the sound of the wind whistling through the strings will only last for the duration of its plummet.

I have to agree as long as you are talking aboot a very very high cliff....with jagged, pointy rocks at the botttom...and fire or maybe lava....and a big wood chipper. That being said, I I now play my EBO as much or more than any instrument I own.
