Members DerekDRP Posted September 28, 2005 Members Posted September 28, 2005 ok topic is for your parody topic starters ( you know who you are ). anways this amp http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=bass/search/detail/base_pid/480133/c_lv=1/ here will be good for practice? even though the reviews are crappy?
Members der oxenrig Posted September 28, 2005 Members Posted September 28, 2005 That should be fine, although i still think you should go for a Peavey Microbass.
Members zachoff Posted September 28, 2005 Members Posted September 28, 2005 Kick in the extra $30 and get the Soundwave. One thing I've learned is never to buy the cheapest of anything.

Get most watts you can get for the money. Its tough to amplify those low frequencies. 10 watts works for guitar, but more is better for bass.

I bought a new, cheap practice amp at GC for $79.00. I thought it was great, until the day that I really needed a CD input, and this amp didn't have one. If I'd bought the $99.00 amp that had a CD input, I wouldn't have to whine about it.
Members DerekDRP Posted September 28, 2005 Author Members Posted September 28, 2005 aye i under stand. How close are you to traverse city dude?
Members DerekDRP Posted September 28, 2005 Author Members Posted September 28, 2005 what do you guys think of a jonson amp 15-20 watts? ( cant remeber it ) it sounded ok but the dude said dont turn it up ( its like $80 usd ) your thoughts?
Members Gaui Posted September 28, 2005 Members Posted September 28, 2005 Try getting something better, maybe 50w and at least 10" speaker. 10 watts is nothing.

Members D Aussie Posted September 29, 2005 Members Posted September 29, 2005 This 10W dedicated bass amp has 3-band EQ and presence control. Its closed back design and 6" speaker with headphone out make it ideal for backstage warming up and for beginners in need of loud sound. What a load of rot.Ibanez should be ashamed of this type of rubbish.Mate, put away $15 a week for the next few weeks and get something nice.I have a 25w amp that I sometimes use for busking, but it IS {censored}house for bass
Members DerekDRP Posted September 29, 2005 Author Members Posted September 29, 2005 im trying it out tomarrow on my bass. so wish me luck. and plus the ibanez amp will just be for the house.

Members D Aussie Posted September 29, 2005 Members Posted September 29, 2005 Still rekon you should just save a little longer, mate. Your call.
