Members Monkabutt Posted September 29, 2005 Members Posted September 29, 2005 If so you could buy all three of these! http://www.bassnw.com/Used%20Basses/fodera_emperor_deluxe_5_st_LP.htm http://www.bassnw.com/Used%20Basses/fodera_monarch_elite_4_st_BEM.htm http://www.bassnw.com/Used%20Basses/fodera_imperial_elite_5_st_Koa.htm
Members ARES Posted September 29, 2005 Members Posted September 29, 2005 $14,000 = pay off debt, buy an old sunn rig, snag this pre-gibson tobias bassnw.com is selling, and still have enough money left over for beer.
Members bholder Posted September 29, 2005 Members Posted September 29, 2005 They probably all sound great, but those pics could've just as easily been captioned "when ugly things happen to good wood". blech. I just think their designs are visually hideous.
Members Thunderbroom Posted September 29, 2005 Members Posted September 29, 2005 If I had an extra $13,797 sitting around, about the last thing I'd buy are those basses.

Members beam Posted September 29, 2005 Members Posted September 29, 2005 I've yet to see a Fodera I'd spend more than $500 on.

Members pbass_groovin Posted September 29, 2005 Members Posted September 29, 2005 that much for a bass...what a rip. How much would insurance for that thing be?
Members i_wanna_les_paul Posted September 29, 2005 Members Posted September 29, 2005 You think it's not worth it. Then you play one, and start to think it may not be too bad... Dustin

That and if you have one everyone expects that you can play every Vic's lick out there..............which I can't.

Members Darkstorm Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 Is not even vaguely impressed by any of those.

Members LanEvo Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 Wow. You'd think for 5 grand they'd at least give you a decent case! The ones in these pics are too chintzy even for my SX Jazz. Emre

It's fun to window shop there on lunch break. I've actually sold more stuff there on consignment than I have bought there. But I've bought plenty...
Members RobRoy Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 Originally posted by pbass_groovin that much for a bass...what a rip. How much would insurance for that thing be? Well, people buy ferraris and they are way past the point of diminishing returns on value. But when you make a million or more a year AND you like to dabble in bass playing, whats ten grand for a nice bass. Seriously, that is who buys these.
Members bleepo Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 that and pros who want a nice bass made mostly to their specs, with top quality craftmanship. Not to mention people like Niomosy! When I first started posting here, I remember cursing Thunderbroom for having gear I wanted, while he was a beginner, and I was gigging a few times a week. It took me a couple of days to get over that! While people don't need Fodera or Alembic basses to play, they don't hurt!
