Members TCEDDIA Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 I saw the Kings of Leon this past Tuesday night at Toad's Place in New Haven. It was a great show, full of energy--totally rocked. These guys are on the verge of becoming huge. Anyway, the bass player Jared Followill, had a great rig: SVT-CL/SVT 810 cab and SVT-CL/410hlf. He played a white Thunderbird with no effects, as far as I could tell. Needless to say, a very nice tone that pounded my chest all night long while standing in the front row. I noticed some white stains all over the 810 grill before the show started and thought that some idiot had spilled a beer or something like that on the cab. About 4 songs into the show, he turned around and hocked up a huge phlegmball and spat it at the freakin grill! It became immediately clear where all those white stains came from. The dude lost some big points for that antic. I was thinking about how most of us would die to have a rig like that and how we would probably treat it with kid gloves. Jared Followill is all of 20 years old and was probably given this rig by his record label. I was bothered by his lack of respect for his top shelf amps and cabs. This said, he still rocked and held the bottom very well. It was an impressive show except I wish I didn't have to witness him coughing up half a lung onto his sweet rig.
