Members ARES Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 looking for a solution to lugging a 4x10 cab around for small gigs and solo practice, but the small combo amp i have sacrifices too much of my tone. 1x12, tweeter, clean tone (think eden and swr). cheers.
Members Subsonicbass Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 just get a goliath jr. pick it up one hand. can be matched with your 4x10 too.
Members ARES Posted September 30, 2005 Author Members Posted September 30, 2005 i don't want a 2x10, i want a 1x12.
Members Subsonicbass Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 Might I recommend this:
Members ARES Posted September 30, 2005 Author Members Posted September 30, 2005 i'm sure you might! i keep hearing that name around here, but don't think there's a store in my area that carries them. do they sound dirty, clean, pure, coloUred, etc.? edit: these dudes carry bergantino and are only a few hour drive away, cool. http://www.bassalone.com/

See for yourself. http://www.bergantino.com/ I'd say they're pretty clean cabs.
Members Subsonicbass Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 Here's the BP 1x12 Cab Shootout (as if their reviews are worth the paper it's printed on)
Members J the D Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 I use an Eden CXM112 with a GK 400 RB driving it and am extremely happy with the rig. I'd take a good look at the new Eden 112XLT which has replaced my cabinet. It will handle the 8 ohm rating of your amp, sound good, be surprisingly loud (its efficient) and not hurt your back.
Members der oxenrig Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 Schroeder Mini 12+. Bit pricey, though.
Members KeroseneTrewthe Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 Nuthin says lovin like a Behringer.

Members g.ghost Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 I've got the new Eden 112 XLT and love it.It's nice and small and light and sounds terrific . I use it for medium size gigs, rehearsals and even take it to basements for a little quiet "jam night" That way I use it at any venue and always have "my sound" no matter how big or small the gig is. I carry the WT 550 amp in a computer carry bag over my shoulder, the speaker in one hand, and bass in a gig bag in the other ! How cool is that....everything in one trip.
Members burdizzos Posted September 30, 2005 Members Posted September 30, 2005 I really wasn't at all impressed with the Bergantinos. I'd say Avatar SB112.
Members ARES Posted September 30, 2005 Author Members Posted September 30, 2005 kickass, thanks for all ze info. i already know i like eden and that 112xlt looks really nice, although i haven't played one. i want to try out genz benz and bergantino as well, but their efficiency rating makes me hesitant. to buy, not to try out. also want to check out avatar and bag end. i know zilch about schroeder, but if they're expensive i don't know if i need to.

I own the Genz Benz LS 112T. It's a nice cab - has a very good low-mid punch that my GK really accentuates. The treble can get a touch shrill if you turn up the tweeter too much, though. However, from what I've heard of Eden and Bergie cabs, if you've got the money, they would probably be a bit better. Dustin
Members ARES Posted September 30, 2005 Author Members Posted September 30, 2005 i have no problem going used, eden and bergantino 1x12 cabs can be had for about $300 that way. edit: maybe just eden, thought i saw bergantino too but maybe not.
