A-A#-B-C-C#-D-D#-E-F-F#-G-G#-A Those are the notes on the A string from open to the 12th fret. At fret 13, just start again at an A# though usually its written as a Bb. There are no pitches known as B# or E#, or conversely Cb or Fb, though in some more complex music the author may choose to use those notes for some reason.

( this chromatic scale is sort of easy )
Members PrestiaRules Posted October 2, 2005 Members Posted October 2, 2005 when I was first learning the fretboard m pal and teacher taught me to remember the no B# or E# rule by saying "Sharp Skinheads don't do B&Es" apparently Sharp Skinheads are some faction of skinheads that were against the thuggery associated with the notion of skin heads and were therefore against B&Es (break and enters) funny but it sticks with me to this day....
Members PrestiaRules Posted October 2, 2005 Members Posted October 2, 2005 WOW Derek I just looked at your post count.... 800+ posts in a couple months!! You will be a Sr. Member before you third month ! I guess a woot is in order!

I know I'm probably misunderstanding you here. You're talking about B# and E#, right? How can someone choose to use something that doesn't exist? I may be exposing my lack of Music Theory knowlege but I'm confuzzled.
