Members Thunderbroom Posted October 3, 2005 Members Posted October 3, 2005 ...Banners! Inspired by this thread. Please post pics of your band's banner. I'm trying to get some ideas for my country band.
Members rikshaw Posted October 3, 2005 Members Posted October 3, 2005 i dont have any pics but i got a great one from banta.
Members fastplant Posted October 3, 2005 Members Posted October 3, 2005 I think he means vinyl type banners. Here's mine when I used to play my V Drums out: And you can see another here from my current band:

Members takeout Posted October 3, 2005 Members Posted October 3, 2005 T-broom - In keeping with the country theme, just find an old highway sign and paint your name on it. The more bullet holes the better (add some if you think it needs it).
Members mike fitzwell Posted October 3, 2005 Members Posted October 3, 2005 The banners I had made for my old band were simple white vinyl letters on black banner stock. Cost me $50 for 2 of them. We never really had a logo so I just used the same font and layout that I did for all the other promo material: That being said, I LOVE takeout's idea!
Members The Insomniac Posted October 3, 2005 Members Posted October 3, 2005 Here is ours. It's kind of a bad angle but you get the idea. I just incorporated the band name into the website address and made the letters as big as I could.
Members the hammer Posted October 3, 2005 Members Posted October 3, 2005 we mount this behind the drummer from a lighting truss. It is 10' x 10'.

Members Thunderbroom Posted October 3, 2005 Author Members Posted October 3, 2005 For those that didn't say, are your banners 3' x 5'?
Members fastplant Posted October 3, 2005 Members Posted October 3, 2005 The one on my drunk kit was 2x3 and the sideshow one is like 4x6

Since I have the logo (thanks to you) as a vector-based file, I can resize it to fit my "canvas" but am unsure how big the canvas should be.

My wife does all our printing stuff but I would just call around and ask what format they need. That being said, 300 dpi will work for most printing projects if they don't ask for the vector.

Members crabfunk Posted October 4, 2005 Members Posted October 4, 2005 No banner, but we use this on flyers and T-shirts; we're in northwest Washington state and we've heard stories that one of our shirts was seen on a man a a Los Angeles airport; made our day.
Members Newget Posted October 4, 2005 Members Posted October 4, 2005 The mic is a bit in the way, but its there in orange and black to my right.
Members Zeromus-X Posted October 4, 2005 Members Posted October 4, 2005 I make banners, so I can try and price you some stuff too. We just do vinyl though, we don't print. That said, I had two banners with Starfront -- the smaller one was a 4'x10', and the bigger one was an 8'x24'. We'd use the smaller one most of the time, because the bigger one didn't fit in a lot of clubs. Mostly just for outdoor shows and bigger inside shows (we used it at the show at the Hampton Coliseum, for example). I don't have a picture of the big one with me, but here was the small one:
Members timmerz Posted October 4, 2005 Members Posted October 4, 2005 One of the bands I was in last year, Boogie D. Blues..... Real simple banner, 4' x 8', $130......
