Members Fran da Man
It amazes me, the amount of people that want to shierk this Constitutional right. I guess now they know what they'll be up against if they need a fair and impartial jury of their peers. Don't make no sense...I served and never entertained the thought of getting out of it. I'd hate like hell to be guilty from 12 people that automatically know before the opening bell.
Members The Insomniac
A couple of years back my wife got picked for a murder trial and wound up being the jury forman. The guy was guilty and the whole thing was over in less than a week. That was kind of crazy but cool in a weird way.

Members Waabs
I just finished a stint of jury service over here. I had to be on call for about a month. It was a little inconvenient because I could only find out at 5.30pm the day before if I had to attend. That really stuffed things around with work. I didn't get empanelled on any trials but it was a very interesting experience overall. Oh yeah I earned a massive $31.70 for each appearance! Members Monkabutt
We get $12 a day but it is not taxed so they remind you that you have to claim that $12 on your tax return as income.

Members JC Bass
Yeah...the idea of being found guilty by a group of people that aren't intelligent enough to come up with a good reason to get out of jury duty frightens me...be a good citizen and do your duty. Chances are you won't even have to sit on one. I spent two months on call, showed up about 4 times...cases were all pled out prior to trial. Members J.
It's part of being an American citizen. Just go there and be honest. Don't make up any stories - just be yourself. Chances are they won't pick you anyway.
Members lug
If you just present yourself as logical and unwilling to be swayed by emotion, but will really weigh the facts, the side with the weakest case will certainly eliminate you. I had an friend who got regularly called for Jury Duty but hadn't been picked for many years. He finally asked one of the Lawyers why. The lawyer asked him his occupation and he told him Engineer. The lawyer said it was rare that both sides would both think it was a good idea to let someone on the jury that was that logical. The weaker side feared that the jury could be unduly swayed by them. Absolutely. Lawyers rarely ever want a logical thinker on their jury. They want someone whom they feel can be swayed by emotion. The easier they think you can be manipulated, the more they want you.
