Members bikescene
Hi, I'm looking into buying an SX bass to have around for fun. I'm wondering what small practice bass amp you guys would recommend. I have much more of a background in guitar, so I don't know much about bass. I'm in a dorm room so I can't blast it, I just want to be able to play some bass with my friend who has an acoustic guitar. I'm not planning on using it in a band situation with a drummer. Members mike fitzwell
A few people have been singing the praises of the Roland Cube 30. It should fit your requirements.

Members T. Alan Smith
What THEY said. I've got yet to try bassman1956's, but I've got experience with Roland's other amp offerings, and Roland does amps very well. Otherwise, go Peavey Minx. Members bikescene
Thanks for the suggestion. I actually have the Cube 60 for guitar. I'll take a look at the Cube 30 and the Minx. If the Bass Cube 30 is as big as the Cube 30, that'd be sweet. They're so compact.
Members JimboJ
The Rolands are nice, but if you don't want to spend that much, consider the Ibanez SW35. It sounds very good and is only $150. I picked up an SX bass, gig bag, and amp for $300. Very nice setup for the money.

Members bikescene
The used prices for the Minx are pretty good. They're around the $70-$80 range. I'm not sure I want to spend $300 for the Cube 30 right now. I might spring for the bass cube 30 used if I can find a good price for it. From your experiences, how durable is the Minx? I know Rolands are built very well.
