Members hammer744
If it's showing signs of failure, it could go at any moment whether it's bootable or not - you can keep storing stuff on it, but I'd be making CD or DVD backups of the stuff as well - if it goes, you may not be able to get anything off it (unless you want to send it to a data recovery place - $$$$$). Not sure of the prices over there, but hard drives are dirt cheap - get another one and get the data off the failing one. A standard PC can support up to 4 drives (hard drives, CD's, DVD's). Members Geuel
What do you mean by signs of "possible failure." If you ran a check disk and it found any bad sectors or whatnot, then that hard drive is no good to you. Just like hammer says, it's headed out the door. It's living on borrowed time. Time that should only be used to get your data off of it.
