Members bbl
I'm shopping for a lefty 5-string, kicking myself for selling my only 5-string, a lefty Pedulla ET5 Thunderbass, on Ebay 2.5 years ago. Back then, I didn't like 5's. Things have changed, I'm in a gigging band now. So I contact the buyer on a whim, and he says he's only played the bass once, and it's been sitting there all this time, and he'll sell it back to me for what he paid. Makeup sex!!! Members james on bass
My current main bass, the MF, I bought used in '92 or '93. Had it for a few months, then traded it on some other basses.I saw an ad on the 'net in '03 for a bass that sounded very much like my old MF. Shot the guy an email, and low and behold, it was my old bass. A little neglected but nothing a set-up and strings didn't help! Made a deal that day, and I definitely came out on top on this deal! Members CrashStitches
About to make up for the 2nd time. Wierd story, and both are directly related. In 2000 I was doing vocals for this horrible metalcore band. We kicked the bassist out, and he sold me his Jackson JS40 for $60. When I moved, I left the bass with a buddy in Vegas. Last year I moved back here in posession on a red Fender Precision. I talked to a different buddy, and he casually mentioned that he still had my Jackson in his closet after 4 years, and that I could have it back. Bonus! I took posession of the old battle axe and cleaned/restrung/set it up, meanwhile selling the P to the same buddy. I used the Jax as my main gig axe for 6 months until I snapped the neck at a show (by smashing it into a cymbal stand on accident due to overzealous thrashing). I'm now about to reunite with the old Precision after almost a year, as my buddy is throwing down a sick deal for me ($400 for a Firebass 700, a Peavey 4x10 with one blown speaker, and the P). Kinda rambly, but that's the gist of it.

CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted October 6, 2005 CMS Author Share Posted October 6, 2005 Somewhere out there, hopefully, is a jetglo '77 Ric 4001 with at least a small nick in the headstock and a really odd-looking hardshell case, that I owned for three short years way back when, and sold to Sam Ash in Paramus, NJ for $200 to buy xmas gifts after I had been robbed. I regret not recording the serial number in case I ever run across it. It was a great bass and I worked a lot of hours at $2.50/hr to buy it (FYI...$400 new back then). Members L-1329
No need to reunite when there's no way they're ever leaving my sight! Well, except for maybe the Hamer once it's 'replacement' gets here... If I ever had to get rid of the Gibby I think I'd cry for weeks. Glad to hear you guys got some of them back! Members james on bass
I already told my MF story here, and I've posted pictures before of a lot of the nice basses I've owned. Back around from about '88 to '95 when I was playing a lot, I was so nonchalant with my basses. I'd buy and trade on a whim! All in all, I didn't come out on top, but I don't think I lost money in all those transactions. I could almost cry when I look at some of the basses I once owned, and how little a chance I gave them. I would love to still own some of them!
Members bassman1956
Okay, not really, as in, this isn't the EXACT bass, as far as I know. BUT... I had a bit of a strange gig in the early 70's in Erie, Pennsylvania... Played for the big band of Dale Higgins. He ran a music store. I got to play all kinds of basses in the store. Amps too, although they were usually Ampeg, but sometimes Fender or other. Anyways, this was one of my favorite basses to play when he had one in. And when I found one on the web a few years ago, it was my bass playing reborn.
Members The Aardvark
I've never reunited with an instrument, but I had a MIA Stratocaster guitar that I had to sell about 6 years ago, I look for it all the time.

After a few years, I really started missing it. No, courtesy of eBay, I have two of them. (Not the same one, of course, but the same model.) Same with my Gibson Rippers.
