Members Casper Cliche Posted October 8, 2005 Members Posted October 8, 2005 What are your head settings, and what kind of tone does it give you? Just trying to try out a few new things to get the best tone from my head.
Members Adrenochrome Posted October 8, 2005 Members Posted October 8, 2005 Well I've ordered one today [rack-mount] to replace my aged Peavey Megabass. When I've tried it, I'll let you know!
Members mounds Posted October 8, 2005 Members Posted October 8, 2005 Uhh.. with my Yamaha- I've got my MAG setup like: Input 1:00 (this is relative to the input signal strength from your bass- I use the VU with my normal finger playing dynamics to determine a suitable level; bear in mind, however, that the preamp will start to distort well before you get a redline signal)Low 12:30Low mid 1:00Mid 3:00High mid 2:00High: 11:30 If I use the subharmonizer, that rarely ever gets set higher than ~10:00 or so and... uhh.. it gives what I consider "good" tone, I guess. it's kinda rounded without being overbearing in terms of low-end. I don't like to have the highs up a lot because the treble from the piezo tweeter makes my head hurt.
Members Archon_113 Posted October 8, 2005 Members Posted October 8, 2005 I keep the EQ flat except for a small low-mid boost, just to give it a little extra growl.
Members sunburstbasser Posted October 8, 2005 Members Posted October 8, 2005 The amp is very clean. Its not too far from a GK in that it'll sound like you but louder. The EQ will just boost or cut certain frequencies, it doesn't really seem to alter the tone much. I set mine with lots of lows, low-mids, mids, cut the high mids and turn the highs up just a little.
