Members Funkee1 Posted October 8, 2005 Members Posted October 8, 2005 Sorry, to start seperate threads..... My buddy Derrick Dixon (www.thederrickdixongroup.com) is working for Salwender International. He has asked me to help him demo a new product from a German luthier called "Stoll", and so I have this fretless ABG sitting in my room. The thing has an oversize body, kinda looking like a jumbo, jumbo cutaway, and sounds very much like an upright bass! It's cool, but weird! We are going to do a live Demo in the San Diego area this month at Acoustic City. More on this later. If I can get ahold of a digital camera, I'll post some pics!
Members Tommy Gunz Posted October 9, 2005 Members Posted October 9, 2005 Cool. Does he use his own custom designed piezo and preamps? or like most others with Fishman or some sort?
Members bholder Posted October 9, 2005 Members Posted October 9, 2005 I did some Googling, is this the one: http://www.stollguitars.de/ Looks pretty cool.

NO tone controls on board at all!!! It really doesn't need it, though because it's sound is perfect!

Mark, what are you doing being friends with them? :) seriously, that ABG is very cool looking. is the frefboard radiused and the action high enough to play URB style slapping?
