Members HORSE
just wanted to vent some steam: I was flying back from Edmonton to Ottawa today and my flight departure time was set for 7:45am. I figured that I would get up at 5:30am and drive for one hour to the airport, leaving me an hour to get through line ups and what not, with a built in 15 minutes of grace. This is what really happened:My alarm clock didn't go off (I accidentally set it to 'PM' instead of 'AM'). I woke up (miraculously) at 6:30am, nearly {censored} my pants when I saw the time, woke up my friend (who was my ride to the airport) and swore all the way out the door. We drive pretty quickly down the highway and I get to the airport at about 7:25am. There's a line up at the check-in desk. When I finally get my boarding pass, its about 7:35am and there's another line at security. Fortunately an airport employee let me through to the head of the line and I got through fairly quickly. I rushed onto the plane at 7:45am on the dot and squirmed all through takeoff because I hadn't had my morning pee yet. 2 cups of coffee, 3 expensive airplane granola bars, 1 boring March of the Penguins in-flight film, and 3 1/2 hours cramped in a small seat later, I finally land at Ottawa... Only to find out my luggage didn't make it onto the plane in Edmonton. Apparently it will sent as soon as possible and they will bring it to my house, but it probably won't be soon enough for me to retrieve my anniversary gift for my girlfriend in time. Oh yeah, and I left my $200 prescription sunglasses in Alberta.
Members Mudbass
Flying, no, but I hate crowds, I hate lines, I hate rubbing up against people I don't know and I hate being stuffed along with 100 other people into an airplane originally designed to hold 85. Members sunburstbasser
That sucks. I've been lucky, personally, on the 4 times I've been flying. But each time, someone at one end or the other had a problem. First time, one guy lost his wallet at the airport. I hated the {censored}er anyway but still. Second time was flying back from NAMM. Same airport, actually (DIA). This time, one of the girls in the group was called for security reasons. She got through but it took a long time. Good luck getting everything back. Members FreestyleIntruder
Not a big fan here. People often misinterpret it as fear - but it's not, I find it difficult to sleep on long flights and even when I do I usually wake up with a heavily re-modelled spine and a crushing headache. Shorter flights I'm ok with, anything more than about 2 hours just pisses me off.

Members zachoff
I don't mind the actual flying part... It's the whole process of getting in the plane that I hate. I've flown close to 10 times since 9/11 & there's only been three times I didn't have to go through a couple rounds of security. That {censored} bums me out... Along with paying $10 a day for parking, having to get there 2 hours before the flight takes off to sit around & wait for an hour, $6 beers at the airport, knowing that my baggage has been rummaged through when I arrive at my destination... Basically, I feel like a criminal and I feel violated damn near every time I fly.

Members Emprov
I don't mind it if it's a short flight, long flights are a real drag though. I have a *real* hard time being cramped up like that for hours on end and I've never been able to sleep on planes -- or cars unless I'm driving. Funny, I too struggle to sleep on planes but, on the other hand, I can easily doze off to sleep in a car on a long journey (or even a not very long journey) Maybe it's something to do with the cabin pressurisation, or maybe the fact that you're being cramped in an alloy tube with about 300 other people...
