Members Emprov
That's kind of like asking what tires will work well on shortbed trucks. Give us a bit more info and we can provide you with more than enough opinions to confuse the heck out of you.
Members Apendecto
The same ones that work on a long scale bass. Yo.
Members hawkhuff
+1 The length of the scale would have nothing to do with it anyway.

Uhm, yeah, that's what I was thinking... Unless you want the pickup to make up for some shortcoming of the short-scale bass sound (Do they have different sound, anyway?) Members sunburstbasser
Since a short-scale bass is smaller, it makes sense to me to use a larger pickup than you would for a standard bass. A 6 or 7 string soapbar pickup with blade pieces, like a Bartolini, should make and excellent short-scale pickup. Just slant it so it fits under the strings better. Otherwise, a pickup is a pickup. It won't really matter what you use so long as it fits.
