Members bob denard Posted October 14, 2005 Members Posted October 14, 2005 Hi everybody !After playing without amplifier for years i finally bought an SVT 3 on Ebay US. I'd like to make a good deal too for the cab (an Ampeg 410) but that might take longer... As i 'll need a cab during the time between, i spotted a cheap Hartke VX 410. Has anybody tried it ? Is it OK or just terrible ? Thanks everybody..
Members mounds Posted October 14, 2005 Members Posted October 14, 2005 http://harmony-central.com/Bass take a gander at that link-- look under "Amplifiers" and Browse by Manufacturer. It'll give you an idea of what their owners think.
Members zomawia Posted October 14, 2005 Members Posted October 14, 2005 It sounds decent when playing alone. But everytime I heard someone use it live, it sounded like {censored}. I'd say save your money and get the Ampeg when you can. You'll eventually buy the Ampeg sooner or later. And keep looking for a good used deal on it.
Members der oxenrig Posted October 14, 2005 Members Posted October 14, 2005 You'd be better off with an Avatar 4x10 from www.avatarspeakers.com I think they're better than the Ampegs personally. YMMV.
Members pbass_groovin Posted October 14, 2005 Members Posted October 14, 2005 stay away from it...it bites
