Members SG-DAWG Posted October 14, 2005 Members Share Posted October 14, 2005 Im a guitar player,and have had a band for quite a while.I was thinking about buying a bass cab for my bass player to use because his 2x15 crate sounds like ass.He has a Pod bass pro ,and i loaned him a crest 4000 power amp,which he uses bridged.Anyway, a guy who used to play with us had a 8x10 ampeg and i thought it really sounded good.I want to have that sound for the band again but he isnt willing to buy anything so i may.I was looking at the svt 810, the mesa 8x10 and the swr 8x10.Whats your opinion on these cabs ?Pros and Cons?Thanks. SWR and ampeg are going to sound really different, not sure about mesa boogie as i never played one. i have an SWR 4x10 and love it, but if you dig the ampeg sound you may not. Dude ,this was a while ago.Please tell me more.I like a Tool type sound i guess,or at least i hate a muddy muffled sound..Tell me the difference between the Ampeg and the SWR. thanks.
