Can anyone identify this amp?

Hello.

 

I bought this amp & head from some guy about 5 years ago, and it's been in the corner of my garage since then. But I've never actually known anything about the amp, except that it's loud, and it's a marshall.

 

Has anyone seen one of these before that can tell me something more about it?

 

Also, I can only ever get a dirty tone through it. I don't know if it's the amp or the head

Well guessing that the cabinet is a Marshall 15" speaker cab......or maybe even an 18" speaker cab - hard to tell!

 

Not sure about the amp (the head).....are you sure it says Marshall on it?? Not too familiar with all of te models that Marshall made....but that doesn't look like any of the ones I'm familiar with!

Yeah, it's really hard to tell isn't it? Cause there's no markings on it anywhere. Just Marshall written on the front.

 

The head isn't Marshall. I don't really know what that is either. But I think that it's dead or dying. Is it recommendable to open it up myself to give it a clean and check it out?

 

I think if I had the money, I would definetly get something a whole lot smaller (something I could carry, or fit in a car if I had one).

 

Perhaps I should take out a classified ad and try to get something for it. It only cost me the equivelant of $100USD

It looks like a pre-Peavey, Peavey.

Any chance of taking a better shot of the head only? A close-up of the front and back would help greatly.

My gut reaction is an early 70's Peavey. ???
