Bands you don't like, even though you know you should...

My drummer's been wanting us to cover alot of Led Zeppelin, and it's pissing me off, because he basically tries to be a Bonham clone, and instead ends up playing like Jimmy Page was on drums (aka sloppy & {censored}ty timekeeping). I used to like (not love) Led Zeppelin, but this has made me almost completely hate them now, not to mention Robert Plant's voice has always irritated me, Page's Les Paul sounds like ass (but I don't like the sound of most LPs anyways), & JPJ's tone to me is boring & lifeless (not to mention his playing is either boring as hell, or too complex or different from my style). Bonzo's the only one I could really like, but my drummer's killed that by wanting to waste 20 minutes of practice time every day playing Moby Dyke.

Anyways, what are some bands you know in theory you should like, but you just don't?

Zep came LONG after The Who. Without The Who there would BE no {censored}ing Zeppelin.

And if I had to chose between a strong masculine howl, or a whimpy feminine castrated-goat yelp, i'd choose the strong masculine growl every time.

The Rolling Stones. They quit rolling about 30 years ago. And definetly Zepplin. I have never seen the so called greatness of that band. I can see the uniqueness in their time, but not greatness. And Eric Clapton. I am starting to appreciate his playing more, but his songs just put me to sleep, with any band he's played with.

I should like Deicide. On paper, they seem like a good band for me. But i just don't dig them at all.

Same with Pain of Salvation... prog metal with funky influences, should be good right? Just doesnt move me though.

Same with most jazz. I know its amazing music, but just doesnt move me.

Bob Dylan. I never got it and I still don't. I know he changed everything. I'm not sure how... or why. I love many artists that name the guy as their top influence. He's just a folk singer, people, wtf.

Ramones. Just TOO simple, sorry.

Nirvana. The soundtrack for angst-ridden late teens arrived about 8 years too late for me, because by that time I thought life was pretty good.
