I bought this SX jazz bass last Xmas for myself and have done a few things.

1-Badass II bridge

2-Seymore Duncan 1/4 Pounder Pickups

3-professional set up

And last, which I did today was modify the ugly headstock shape. I whipped out the old jig saw and cut it more of a traditional shape. I also sanded off the SX badges and sprayed it with poly. I am pretty happy with the results. Tell me what you think.

killer. absolutely.

where'd you pick up the quarter pounders + how do they sound?

my SX should be here tomorrow, i'm stuck b/w DiMarzio Ultrajazz pickups or something Seymour Duncan-- I've used DiMarzios in every guitar I've owned, but my ESP has SD's.

I bought them at Rockit Music In Brea, Ca. it's a local shop and they really take care of you, $90 plus tax. They sound punchy and deep I really like em.

Wow, looks sweet, I was thinking about doing something similar with the headstock on mine, but it would be more hassle since it has some aged colour on it, not just pure poly. Also how are those pickups? I can get some locally, could be a good choice.

Hrm...I suspect you are unaware of exactly what that last phrase means (or the proper spelling for that matter), as it seems quite incongruous with your behavior...

As for a real Geddy, perhaps he liked the look and did not wish to pay $500+ for it...Or perhaps he liked the look, but did not like the neck (many don't)...I don't remember what his motivations were, but I'm failing to see how you have position to make judgement upon them...

well wait.

a real geddy would be the one owned by geddy. so would that make the "real" geddy junk as well, being the fact that it's not a "real" geddy?

I'm confused.

also, taking from the owner's signature:

Essex "Geddy Lee Wannabe" Jazz Bass

I play a Geddy, among other instruments...And I don't care what anyone does with their instruments, they can claim whatever they want, why should I care?

As for it being a piece of junk, you know this because you've played it right? Because otherwise how could you make that claim?
