Members mench
I just placed my order for a swamp ash Jazz Bass body, painted Arctic white with royal blue competition stripes (3 stripes diagonally at the arm contour). I also ordered the control plate, knobs, and bridge. I'm expecting it to take about 6 weeks to get here so I'll post some photos then. I'm EXCITED :-p previous thread on what I'm doing here

Members NV43345
I dont know about the stripes. I prefer a clean look. But it sounds like a cool project.
Members sultan417
I have a Warmoth neck that i got last year... ..just like that with large MM style frets. Ive been debating on finishing it with a natural ash J-bass body, or just getting a MM Stingray.
Members bassman1956
I think white with the blue strips sounds cool! Now all you need is a Shelby Cobra sticker on there, right on the strips, to set the whole thing off like a race car! purrr-deee!
Members mench
Actually, I nearly went against the blue and white because I didn't want it to look like an american muscle car... I considered green and gold in true aussie spirit but that'd be too cheesy and blue and white actually looks better :-p sultan that neck would look great with natural ash - and black hardware looks really good with those maple bound & blocked necks (at least in pictures, I've never seen one... )

Im thinking a natural ash body, routed for P and J pickups (fralins) with a black pickguard and Badass II.

Careful now...we wouldn't want him to try and pass off his bass as a Shelby Cobra or anything.

Members mench
got an email back from warmoth, they can't do the royal blue stripes because the paint's a different type to the white - we went with Lake Placid Blue instead. I think it might actually look better anyway... a bit more old school, like my old adidas runners :-p
Members Thumper
Lake Placid Blue is always a good choice, especially for a Fender-style bass. I got a Warmoth LPB P-bass body with PJ pup-routs in 1999 for my Frankenstein P, and it's very, very nice.
Members mench
It is indeed a nice colour but the bass is going to white with LPB racing stripes. Now I have to wait 6 weeks for it to get here
Members SpaceGhost
I e-mailed warmoth but I haven't received any answer back: Does anyone know if warmoth will route the Jazz bridge pickup in the '70s bridge position, about 3/8" closer to the bridge? It took about three months to get mine, but then again it had some customized and very time consuming options. I have read that Warmoth can route the pickups in different locations, if you know where you want to locate them. You need to talk to them in person to find out. They set mine up with a more or less hand made neck pocket, so I think that a relocation of a pickup route should be no problem. Good luck! Members DontLookJustGO
You should check mosesgraphite.com. They make graphite necks for a lot of different basses, including Warmoth.

Also, depending on what you like, it's a tone some would say is more sterile or clean, lots of "stringiness". The wood of the neck definitely provides some of the tone. My frankencision came out a total 80's sounding rock mo-sheen. Lotsa mids, cuts like a chainsaw. Very spanky-brite slap tone.

That would be the only limiting factor I can think of, because they can't be in the same place. Other than that, I would think they could move it. Members mench
the bridge thing got to me actually - warmoth rout/drill for about 5 different bridges, one of which is supposed to be a direct replacement for a fender bridge (gotoh 201) however on looking at the photos, the gotoh is a five screw bridge, and the bridge on my p-bass is 3 screws, string through body. I checked on the fender website and the current fender bridge is the same. I was going to use my p bridge but I had to order a gotoh 201 with the other crap.. No big deal but I'm glad I noticed before it got here
Members bassman1956
I haven't swapped one out, so I can't swear to this, but, what I gather from others on here, everything lines up with the Gotoh, and then 2 extra screw holes are added. Members mench
Ah right. There's no option to have the ferrules drilled for standard fender - only as part of the gotoh 206? (guessing on the number - the massive gotoh bridge with string-through option) Probably should have emailed about it but I was going to have to buy another bridge at some point anyway.
