I'd like to, but I just don't have any luck locating obscure recordings. Shoot, I'm still trying to get my hands a few Spotnicks (not "Sputniks") recordings.
Members zenfascist Posted October 24, 2005 Members Posted October 24, 2005 Nuclear Rabbit Dead MilkmenMr. Bungle ZappaNed's Atomic DustbinFishbone That's all I can think of right now. Zappa and Bungle are fairly well-known, but they're still very obscure. Ned's Atomic Dustbin is a German (?) band with two bass players that do all sorts of weird {censored}. Fishbone is obscure in that they do so much different stuff (metal, ska, punk, jazz, reggae, funk)...sometimes in one song!
Members bholder Posted October 24, 2005 Members Posted October 24, 2005 Only current bands, or do older ones qualify? Anyone else know Thunderclap Newman?
Members Detox Posted October 24, 2005 Members Posted October 24, 2005 Originally posted by bholder Only current bands, or do older ones qualify?Anyone else know Thunderclap Newman? Sure. I even have a (pretty cheezy) vid of them.

Members B-Bottom Posted October 24, 2005 Members Posted October 24, 2005 I'v heard of the 13th floor elevators. A guitar player I used to jam with was into this really weird music and he introduced me to them. Wasn't that the band where the singer, I believe, had electro shock therepy and it really really messed him up. I think they only had one album and they had an electric jug as an instrumentA few more obscure ones that I like aresuplecs- kind of sabbath likeFive horse Johnson- Bluesy rock60 watt shaman- pretty rocking group, I'm not sure if they are still aroundChoking victim- anarchist punk, only had one album which was recorded in one day. The band members are part of another band called Left over crack, which is almost the same as Choking Victim
Members sunburstbasser Posted October 24, 2005 Members Posted October 24, 2005 Haven't heard of most of the bands listed. My own likes: Vito Cole-Acoustic Rock, and the man who inspired me to playThe Fashion Coasters-Hard rock, now defunct. I've never heard anything like it since.Jalan Crossland-Folk guitar and singing, lots of talent!Norman Liotta-Folky, but more experimental than Jalan.Blinddog Smokin'-Texas Blues, plus funk and hip-hop influencesDown To The Bone-Acid Jazz, like Jamiroquai without vocals.!Tang-A more aggressive Tower of Power with hip-hop and Latin influences.Clatter-What a 2-piece band should sound like! Not exactly obscure here, though.
