Members Tlaloc Posted October 25, 2005 Members Posted October 25, 2005 why are 4x12s designed for bass so much bigger than standard guitar 4x12s? That really pisses me off.
Members SpaceGhost Posted October 25, 2005 Members Posted October 25, 2005 Its so that the cabs are proportionate with are penis size.
Members der oxenrig Posted October 25, 2005 Members Posted October 25, 2005 The original Marshall 4x12s were designed for bass.
Members ToeJamFootball Posted October 25, 2005 Members Posted October 25, 2005 different drivers need different sized boxes. they need to be big to get good bass response. ToeJam
Members i_wanna_les_paul Posted October 25, 2005 Members Posted October 25, 2005 It's just to piss you off... But really, ToJam hit it on the head - providing the correct volume for the speakers to have proper volume makes the cabs a lot bigger and heavier. Even the magnets on bass speakers will be heavier, as does the added wood to make the cab bigger. It's that darn physics stuff again.
