How much difference does upgrading your speaker make?

I doubt you will get what you are looking for. You may see a little difference. Mostly see the difference in speaker voicing. Different speakers have different sounds. Anyway this is what I have noticed. Now if the speaker is bad, You will see a big difference.

I swapped the {censored}ty thin paper speaker in my Yorkville combo out with an Eminence Delta 12LF that I had laying around and it was much nicer. thicker lows, and nicer highs. Its probably not the right size box for the speaker but the amp doent get gigged and sits next to my desk so i just use it to jam on when my rig isnt at my house

I just took out the speaker, and did some investigation. 4 ohms. I bet I could just take the "amp" part out of the combo then make a rack or box for it.

Do you guys think I could gain some volume by converting it to a head and hooking it up to a nice 2 10 cab?
