Pedals, for the most part, are designed to work best using the input of your amp.

Distortion pedals and the like basically act like preamps. So use the active channel input on your amp.

I only have 1 input on my amp. That's why i am askin

yeah i'm pretty sure that's a keyboard, doing slap bass obviously. also i never thought it had a chorus effect.

i'd start with a distortion pedal of some kind. not my favorite effect and not the one i use the most, but it's the most obvious and in yer face.

But a chorus pedal is a good first pedal. So is an overdrive.

Oh but I'am a gear whore proble worst then lug or boalg :thu: And possible even worse then Thunderbroom when buying gear.

The slap sound on Seinfeld is a keyboard of some kind. And while the playing is cool, using a chorus will not get that sound.

Smacking your strings against the fretboard-with a little finesse-will get pretty close though!:thu:

I'd recommend an overdrive or distortion first. A chorus or flanger after that. And a compressor!

I think someone else recommended you get a Pandora. I'd second that.

Get some kind of multi-effect unit. Even a small Digitech or something. Then, play with it, and see what you like. Once you figure out what you actually want to use, sell the multi-unit and get some really nice pedals that do what you want.

Although buying {censored} is fun, and I've used a lot of money on it, I would wait like a year. You can get a lot of sounds out of your amp, your bass and your hands.

Go experiment for a while. Learn how to play with a pick. Learn to slap. See where different placements of your figers affect the sound.

Go get a metronome first.

Yo.

So what he's trying to tell you is if you can't play, lots of gear is pretty useless. So learn how to play first. :)

Hey, if theres anything I learned on this forum, its that having gear is a good thing, and having more gear makes up for lack of talent (except Lug, who has no talent. He only has anti-talent).

Of course, no need to spend your money needlessly, which is why you should go with the multi-unit first.

Besides, how good do you REALLY need to be to stomp on a button?
