Members bonscottvocals Posted October 27, 2005 Members Posted October 27, 2005 What's the name on the headstock? You may have a problem with the preamp. If you've done all the knob-turning and switching you can, there's a possibility that there's no power. I have had a terminal come off inside the battery connector: You may need to use a voltmeter at the opposite end, or you could lightly tug the wires to see if one comes out. Lastly, you could cut the plastic at the termination and see if a wire is having on by a thread (so to speak).
Members Trento54 Posted October 27, 2005 Author Members Posted October 27, 2005 theres the head umm i will try that. i was thinking it was something dodgy about the active circut mm i might just upgrade it all new pickups and a new bridge thanks
Members bonscottvocals Posted October 27, 2005 Members Posted October 27, 2005 Believe it or not, this happened to me with a brand new bass, and I found out it was just the wire at the 9v connector. It was hanging on by a single thread of wire. I just pulled it off, resoldered a new connector and the bass was fine. Of course, if you just need an excuse to upgrade...
Members Trento54 Posted October 27, 2005 Author Members Posted October 27, 2005 yea a "broken bass" gives me the excuse to go "Mummy, daddy my bass is brokey and i need $200 to fixey it up":D
Members Markee Posted October 27, 2005 Members Posted October 27, 2005 Could be just a cold solder to one or both of those wires. Try that first. Make sure you use an iron that is a minimum of 40 watts. A gun would do better for that. It looks like a really cool bass. Your dad hads good taste.
Members KeroseneTrewthe Posted October 27, 2005 Members Posted October 27, 2005 Its like a neck-through and then its like...not. Cool bass.
