Members illidian
I ran into one at my local GC today. Pricetag was $202, on the back it said 110 watts at four ohms. Had four (or six?) tubes. As I do research on this, does anyone want to fill me in with any of their knowledge? For anyone in the Cincinnati area, it's at the Forest Fair Mall/Cincinnati Mills Guitar Center (just off Winton road near 275, and is within ten minutes' drive of Sam Ash). PS - The amp had I believe a "Hi Input," and "Normal Input." Equipped with Reverb...
Members sludgebass69
Never seen one, but if it worked o.k. I'd offer 'em $150. Would be cool to have some unique old tube amps sittin' around.
Members 82Daion
It might be decent. Too bad it's not one of the "Super Festival" models. Let us know how it sounds.
Members illidian
I didn't plug it in. 82Daion, what's a Super Festival? Maybe it was a Festival, not a Carnival...
Members 82Daion
I've seen them pop up on Ebay every now and again. They seem to have been Peavey's big tube heads back in the day. I think their biggest was the Super Festival or something like that. Other than that, I know little. There are a few reviews on HC.
Members illidian
Thanks for the tip. I'm checking the HC database now. Yes, it must've been a Peavey Festival. Searching on yahoo I came up with some matches to that.
Members illidian
http://www.harmony-central.com/Guitar/Data/Peavey/Festival-1.html 4 6L6 power tubes, ss preamp. Hey Ox, for a guy who likes a clean(er) sound, think this will work well?

I suppose it would, I had a Music Man HD130 that had 4xEL34s and a solid state preamp, and a 12AX7 driver tube. It had a LOVELY clean sound, but as soon as it got into distortion territory, it sounded like ass with bass, very farty. Turns out it was because the power amp tubes were almost in class B, meaning they couldn't be overdriven. I don't know if this amp is the same way, but don't goto this amp for overdriven sounds if it is.
