Members fretless
Schecter Devil Deluxe , 32" scale , "diamond" pickups / 2 band active , Basswood , but is fairly heavy for basswood , I need to throw it on a scale but for now I guess 8 3/4 lbs. give or take It is well done for a "cheaper Instrument" @ $375, right out of the box it had Elixir strings and was very well set up , fret work and nut are nicely done , especially in this $ range , I really dig the looks , cool inlay , that is kinda like black pearloid and a small "SG" ish body nice balance and interesting Med/short scale kinda tone . Also has a fairly fat neck so here are some pics of the Devil Dlx , I just put fresh SS Rotosound med scale 90-40 ga. What have you been doing for the last hr. fretless you ask craptacular sound samples for your amusement recorded direct no compression , nothing , I use the sansamp in "Off" mode , the first 30 seconds is the bridge pickup , then 30 seconds of the blend knob center for Both and then the Neck , there is a slight pause between them and then I turned the sansamp on drive @ 2:00, with a drum loop and did lots of pickup blending and a Blockfish compressor plug-in http://www.digitalfishphones.com/main.php?item=2&subItem=5 so in all it's raw glory and my highly skilled smash and wankery . Members fretless
I finished farting around with this bass , I couldn't get those strings to stay in tune 1/2 step down and I had these Pyramids and at first I thought the silk came down to far on the A string and they are Just long enough to get passed the nut ,so I used the other strings first but after the tuning issue , I cut some silk off and crossed my fingers, here is the before pic these tuned right up and stay there and feel great , here is another random note sound sample same thing , Bridge pickup Both , and Neck , but with the drum loop I used the sansamp in Off I am getting a little hollowbody ,shortscale kinda vibe I was hoping for with this now , what do you think CLIP2
Members Benjamin
I like that devilish shape. My Epi Ripper is similar, double-cut and nasty in black The Schecter sounds like it has some real variation for tone also. I hear a woody quality, which is good. Try some RotoSound Swing 66LD strings if you want some nasty sounds.
Members fretless
Thanks Benjamin , glad you hear the woody qualities too , Nice Epi , yeah I had those rotosound 66 on the first clip there , I liked them but they had tuning issues tuned 1/2 step down , but seemed better in standard , but I mostly play 1/2 step down , I do have another set I may try some time and they also offer a Flat in med scale I may try sometime , but for now I'm gonna leave it with the Pyramids . .... off to work up " I want you (She's so Heavy)"
Members LanEvo
Looks like you're going to have to add Love Gun, Strutter, and Detroit Rock City to your repertoire. Emre

Members Benjamin
He'll need my bass for that first.. or a Kramer Axe Bass Fretless: I am surprised you had tuning issues with 1/2 step down. I wouldn't be surprised if it were down to the shorter scale. I downtune regularly, have used standard and heavy gauge Rotos. I stick to heavy gauge now, for tone (rather than tuning) reasons. The RotoSound Swing 66 are Long Scale, so I wonder if the Short Scale set would be more suited.
Members fretless
yeah it was odd , I have had similar issuse with my old Jerry Jones , could be a shorter scale thing
Members Benjamin
Just looked at www.rotosound.com, they have RS66M/S, Medium/Short scale although they are also a lighter gauge. Interesting.
