Before our gig last night, I caught a few tunes from The Neville Brothers band. They were in Memphis for the Voo Doo Fest, doing a free preview on Beale Street. The bass player was using a Hartke head, and a Hartke stack with the aluminum cones. Sound was awesome.

My HA3500 gets the job done pretty well and hasn't let me down in the 3+ years that I've owned it. Don't care much for the aluminum coned speakers that they make, but they sure can throw sound. They've always sounded kinda' harsh to me.

What are you talking about? I don't think anyone picks on Lug. We just warn others.

I've heard some Hartkes and played through them. Hate the cabs, even with an Eden head they don't sound very good. The heads are alright but not the sound I want.

played a gig one weekend and the sound company had two bass rigs, one on each side of the drums. one rig was gk 800rb head with two swr 4x10 cabs. the other was gk 800rb head with a hartke 4x10 and 15 on bottom. played the hartke cabs the first night. played the swr cabs the next. no comparison. the hartke's sounded like crap next to the swr's. i thought they would have sounded better but they didn't. they were all looks.
