Members zenfascist Posted November 3, 2005 Members Posted November 3, 2005 I never noticed one way or another.
Members sunburstbasser Posted November 3, 2005 Members Posted November 3, 2005 I notice mathematic ratios when I look at a clock. 1:23, 1+2=3 12:36, 1x2x3=6 11:29, 11-2=9 etc.

Members MorePaul Posted November 3, 2005 Members Posted November 3, 2005 for me, it's stress related that's why I like analog watches (because they are warmer ) it gives me sort of a sense as to "how fast" time is leaking

Members Trento54 Posted November 3, 2005 Members Posted November 3, 2005 ahah i was just thinkign about that last nighti have a really wierd thing were i always seem to look at the clock at 9:11AHHi then i get my self all worked up on superstituon and things ahh
Members mrcrow Posted November 3, 2005 Members Posted November 3, 2005 not really noticed but i know if you look at an analogue clock you tend to not read the time...but use it as a reference to a time you have set in your agenda... like...its only two hours to lunch time etc.. digital clocks are hard to 'read' for this reason and a lot of people 'convert' the reading into subconscious analogue referential data in the cortes... what a smell:p
Members JC Bass Posted November 3, 2005 Members Posted November 3, 2005 Originally posted by Trento54 i have a really wierd thing were i always seem to look at the clock at 9:11 Ok...that's freaky...I do that too. There are so many times that I look at the clock and it shows 9:11.
Members JacieFB Posted November 4, 2005 Members Posted November 4, 2005 A friend of mine sees the number 11 all the time...on clocks: XX:11 or 11:11 He sees it on signs and stuff, too. He thinks it may have something to do with some weird childhood crush on some girl that lived at 1111 Somestreet, Somewhere. He also had a weird experience in the woods hunting with his brother. They smelled french fries then saw a big "fire in the sky", then nothing. I want him to get hypnotic regression, but it's not causing him any trouble in his life, so why mess with a sane person's brain? I tell him that by the time he figures out that 11 thing, it'll be too late...the world will be crashing around him.
Members vanlatte Posted November 4, 2005 Members Posted November 4, 2005 I never noticed that, but... I seem to have an uncanny sense of time. I can't find my way around a mall but I always seem to know just what time it is, give or take a minute. It's a curse on long days.
Members Waabs Posted November 4, 2005 Members Posted November 4, 2005 I have heard of people who look at clocks at what always seems the same time and things like that. I seem to get into periods where I will wake up at exactly the same time to the minute. For a week I might wake up at 6.30 and then for a few weeks I might wake up at 5.45. *puts on junk science cap*I'd say it would have to do with the different time keeping controls in the brain. From what I can remember there's a couple of levels. A longer term one that controls sleep etc. and a shorter term one that controls things like movement. There's also a middle length one that does in between lenghts.
Members Kin Corn Karn Posted November 4, 2005 Members Posted November 4, 2005 I always seem to look at the clock when it's 4:20. But maybe not in my time zone. Like today, I looked at a clock and it said 3:20, but then, it was 4:20 in the Eastern time zone, which was where I grew up, so it sort of counts.

Members SatansEnemy Posted November 5, 2005 Members Posted November 5, 2005 I always seem to glance over at the clock for no reason, i dont care about what time it is...but i seem to always see the clock when its 11:34.which has always freaked me out.and when i was in elementry i learned that you could use numbers, turn them upside down and they spell words.11:34 upside down = hell so yes it freaks me out cause it happens way too often.
Members sunburstbasser Posted November 5, 2005 Members Posted November 5, 2005 Was 8:40 when I looked at the clock. Which is counting backwards by 4, starting at 8.
Members Dark Slide Posted November 5, 2005 Members Posted November 5, 2005 I don't really do that, though lately I have been looking at the clock right at 11:11 for whatever reason. I have an really weird sense of time though. If I throw something in the microwave, or in the oven, set the timer and go back to what I was doing I will almost always get up to go check on it within the last 10 seconds. If I TRY to do it, it's not so accurate, the key seems to be to get distracted by a game or whatever and when the time is up I just suddenly "remember" to go check on it. Usually it is counting down from 5 seconds or so. Wacky.
