Members jeffery.addison Posted November 26, 2005 Members Posted November 26, 2005 I don't know much about their custom speaker designs, but I do know a few of the guys that work in their store. The speaker building is just one of their services that they offer...they also carry several decent brands of basses in their store, like Lakland...etc. Very good people to work with. I needed a special order in the form of a 4 ohlm Eden 115XLT Cabinet and the LDS guys hooked me up through the Eden people.
Members sunburstbasser Posted November 26, 2005 Members Posted November 26, 2005 Something like a 2x8 would be really nice for hauling around, just something small. Might contact them eventually.
Members beam Posted November 26, 2005 Members Posted November 26, 2005 Got pretty good reviews in one of the more recent Bass Player or Bass Guitar magazines. They will do custom cab work for you, pretty interesting looking stuff This one is cool too: 2x15, 2x6
Members roger hart Posted November 26, 2005 Members Posted November 26, 2005 well, the blue baffle is definetly to get noticed. Nothing wrong with that. We sure want people to notice when somebody is playing our cabs. I think the blue looks cool anyway. We all need amps and cabs....they might as well look like something worth owning eh? With a three way woofer design, I do have my concerns as far as ohm ratings though. Whenever I've asked our guys to build me ...say, a 2x12 with 1x8 cab, they are very hesitant because of the ohms. I'd still like a 2x12, w/ 1x8 and a tweeter though. I can't help but notice their logo looks like the same font as EBS. Does it look that way to anybody else?

Although I'm sure the LDS crew could do any other color for you, as well. The Genz-Benz cabs have a gray to them. It's a type of a confetti kind of thing. I like it, for one. It's also different and makes it stand out compared to other cabs. I believe the 3x8 is a 6 ohm cab. Not sure why I'm thinking that, but I am. Yes, Roger, I thought the same thing about the logo. The first time I saw it I wondered about that.
Members beam Posted November 27, 2005 Members Posted November 27, 2005 I'd love to hear how those things sound. The GAS part of my brain thinks about a 1x15/2x10 with a 6" mid driver instead of a tweeter...in the same color green backpanel as my Trace

That's a completely different group of Mormons who claim to be part of a different church. 99% of the Mormons out there aren't polygamists (though still more wacked in the head than the average Christian). How do I know this? I lived in a big house with 40 other teenagers and a psycho Mormon couple for 9 months. I went to their church every sunday. That's what my comment was in reference to.
