Members rovito Posted December 1, 2005 Members Posted December 1, 2005 Has anyone used one of those CD scratch removers? Do they work?
Members rikshaw Posted December 1, 2005 Members Posted December 1, 2005 i tried one over the weekend. it said not to use it for more than 30 seconds or damage may occur. it didnt work. i need to pull it back out and ruin my useless cd to see if i can make it work
Members Gaui Posted December 1, 2005 Members Posted December 1, 2005 Put some white toothpaste in a soft cloth and wipe it over the cd, then whipe it back off, works great.
Members rikshaw Posted December 1, 2005 Members Posted December 1, 2005 i tried the toothpaste. the cd is much worse now but at least it smells nice
Members bassplayinguy Posted December 1, 2005 Members Posted December 1, 2005 usually if its got like light to moderate scartching, simply burning an exact copy seems to work for me... it will pretty much skip all the scratches and burn you a clean new cd... this has worked on any cd ive tried... short of having gouges in the cd, its worked. but thats only if you dont really care if the cd stayes original... i did this when i had my jeep, i burned every cd that i was gonna leave in it, so that if someone stole them all, theyd only get burned cds, but then when i finished burning them all i found that they were fixed
Members ToeJamFootball Posted December 1, 2005 Members Posted December 1, 2005 i put a little bit of Metholated Spirits on a clothe and wipe it from the inside out, i have only ever done this on ps2 games though, and it probably takes a little bit of the plastic away so i wouldnt do it too much. it works though, better than the cd reparing things. Members januaryscar Posted December 1, 2005 Members Posted December 1, 2005 I tried that cd repair stuff a few weeks back on a pretty messed up cd that wouldn't even rip cleanly to mp3 with skipping. It worked fine after putting that stuff on it. So i say 'yes sir, it does work'.
Members Darkstorm Posted December 1, 2005 Members Posted December 1, 2005 Sometimes those spray on cd restorers work.
