Members tmbg Posted December 5, 2005 Members Posted December 5, 2005 So, I've got this '96 warwick corvette fretless 4 that I bought in 1997, and it's pretty much the only bass that I like to play. I have played it exclusively for all these years, and nothing else feels right to me. I always wanted to get a 5 string for the versatility, but I was never happy with the feel of any one that I played, and I wanted to stick to fretless. Basically, I wanted an exact copy of my bass, but 5 string. I figured it would never happen. Especially considering that I don't like the post-97 warwicks (when they started using cheaper wood and plastic nut, etc). Well, a friend told me to go check out GC Knoxville, so I did, and they had IT, a '97 corvette std 5, pretty much mint condition. It had a $1499 price tag on it, but I negotiated hard and got it for $855, plus I traded in some eden gear I was trying to sell, and picked up the bass for net $66 total.
