Members no-logic Posted December 6, 2005 Members Posted December 6, 2005 I've have had lower back problems for 25 years. I would throw it out of wack about once a year or so and in 4-5 days I'm O.K. Been to chiropractors and doctors and about 10 years ago I was told I have Degenerative Disc Disease. After epidurals and PT they said "You may need surgery. Put up with it until it gets worse." Well it's worse. I've had 3 painful episodes in the last 2 months and I went to my doctor yesterday because I couldn't tolerate the pain. They took x-rays which I saw. My lowest disc in my spine is literally gone. There is nothing left of it anymore. He gave me pain meds and anti-inflammatories and said to see how it is in a few days. If it doesn't get better he'll refer me to a surgeon. This is scary. We're talking out of work for months. (I think) Anyone been through this type of surgery or know anything about it?
