Members timmerz Posted December 24, 2005 Members Posted December 24, 2005 Holy {censored}, that's a SMOKING deal on the cabs, for $400 a guy could have a KILLER rig that you would have a hard time bringing to its knees....I've played that combination, and I assure you the sound is above excellent.Wish you weren't so danged far away from Kaleefornya....
Members beam Posted December 24, 2005 Members Posted December 24, 2005 Ooo, now that IS a good deal on the cabs..
Members timmerz Posted December 24, 2005 Members Posted December 24, 2005 Originally posted by beam Ooo, now that IS a good deal on the cabs.. You going to score those, Beam? I swear to Gaw, if I was within 2 States of the phish I would arrange to grab those, at that price there's no down-side whatsoever....even if you never used them for more than just rehearsing, you still scored big-time!
Members L-1329 Posted December 24, 2005 Members Posted December 24, 2005 *reads post, see's cabs* *looks over at wall of death, see's no more room* *consider's junking POS guitar amp to make room for SWR's* edit: are those both 8 ohms?

Well, I've the eden 210xlt, which almost cost me $400, and I was saving for a 115xl... But these two SWR cabs for $400 is hard to beat... I'd imagine they sound fairly similar, and I'd have the 1x15. I've played through that rig and it sounded great with the Sunn head

Members T. Alan Smith Posted December 24, 2005 Members Posted December 24, 2005 Originally posted by beam If anyone wants to describe the tone of an Eden cab vs. these SWR, please do so The SWRs sound very different from the Edens. I chose SWR. Seriously, I've always really dug Edens, but to my ears, they sound better with GK or Eden heads. I didn't care much at all for the sound of the Edens with SWR amplification. Edens have a slightly 'warmer' overall sound to them with more detail in the mids. SWRs have a silky smooth sound to them with a lot of depth. Best I can do for ya.

Members catphish Posted December 24, 2005 Author Members Posted December 24, 2005 Originally posted by beam If anyone wants to describe the tone of an Eden cab vs. these SWR, please do so Honestly I've never played though eden cabs outside of a showroom. However I've played many Eden amps and most of the time they've been run though non-eden cabs. I'm sure that they are great, but my opinion is that the "Eden tone" is from the amps, not the cabs. SWRs are very clean (a.k.a. non-colored) cabs. They're solid, and high efficiency. I switched to a 410, so these aren't needed anymore.
Members bholder Posted December 24, 2005 Members Posted December 24, 2005 I might be interested in the Shure stuff, maybe the hexacomp.

Members Gaui Posted December 25, 2005 Members Posted December 25, 2005 Any idea of shipping to Iceland on the Dean?

Members Gaui Posted December 25, 2005 Members Posted December 25, 2005 Yeah, I guess shipping would go over 100$ wich is to much for a cheap bass. But there is a company in Virginia that I can get stuff into shipment to Iceland almost for free, can you check the shiping to Norfolk?
