Members RevMachineBass Posted December 31, 2005 Members Posted December 31, 2005 Just saw a commercial for Vh1's "Deacades Rock Live" at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. The headliner is "Heart" with special guest "Alice In Chains". I know Mike Inez is now playing bass with "Heart". Is he still playing with "AIC"? Also, does anyone know who is taking Layne Staley's place on lead vocals?
Members More Cowbell Posted December 31, 2005 Members Posted December 31, 2005 I don't know anything of what you're asking, but I've been listening to Alice In Chains a ton lately. Brought out some stuff i haven't listened to for probably 6 or 7 years. that is all.
Members beam Posted December 31, 2005 Members Posted December 31, 2005 I didn't even think AIC was still together.. "In 2005, Cantrell, Inez, and Kinney reunited to perform a benefit concert in Seattle for victims of the Tsunami Disaster that struck south Asia. The band included former Damageplan lead singer Pat Lachman as its primary vocalist. Surprise guests Wes Scantlin of Puddle of Mudd and Maynard James Keenan of Tool appeared to chip in with vocal duties, and Ann Wilson of Heart guest-starred to reprise her co-vocals on "Brother". The surviving members of the group reportedly enjoyed the reunion, and Cantrell said it felt right playing with his old band again and having Lachman as lead singer. He commented, however, that playing without Staley "left a big hole." He does not see another reunion coming soon, but says it is a possibility." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_In_Chains

Members whoneedstherapy Posted December 31, 2005 Members Posted December 31, 2005 i just opened my thread and out of 4500 mp3's "would?" came on. How spooky
Members Bass8987 Posted December 31, 2005 Members Posted December 31, 2005 My Dad who lives in West Seattle has seen Sean Kinney (the drummer) and he said that they are thinking about reuniting with the singer from Damageplan. I am hoping they do reunite.
Members el_duderino676 Posted December 31, 2005 Members Posted December 31, 2005 I love AIC. The first song of theirs that I heard was the Unplugged version of Would and I instantly fell in love. I hope that whatshisname does Layne Stanley's vocals justice, though their later stuff didn't have him on lead vocals as much.
Members Phantasm Posted December 31, 2005 Members Posted December 31, 2005 If you can find the "Facelift Live" video, watch Layne Staley for "Love, Hate, Love." That's the real {censored}ing deal right there. You can see the emotional connection between the song and the artist, plain as day. Still gives me chills...
Members rovito Posted December 31, 2005 Members Posted December 31, 2005 I wish Cantrell would sing for them. He's a great singer.
Members no-logic Posted December 31, 2005 Members Posted December 31, 2005 I saw the "reunion" show on VH1 a while ago and it was great. This was after they had been on hiatus for 2 years and got back together just for that show. I think it was "Unplugged" back in the 90's. Very cool!

It's to bad that Layne died soon after that concert, because I think that they could've came back and made some killer music after that for years.
