Members bassist31588 Posted January 3, 2006 Members Posted January 3, 2006 Hey all, When I use Acid Pro on my new computer, I can't record with the line-in on my sound card. I get sound out of my speakers, but Acid doesn't recognize it and record what i plug into the Line In. The only thing on my sound card it recognizes is the Mic-In and it records that. The mic-in is not usable for recording bass. My bass is too strong to plug directly into that no matter how many input levels I change. Question is, how do I make Acid recognize my line-in? Another question is, which is off topic to using Acid, my computer doesn't seem to recognize the jacks for my sound inputs and outputs in the back of my computer. I have a cool feature on my newer computer that has extra jacks in the front. Those are the only ones that work. Im using a Compaq Presario SR1550NX. Thanks to those who might have had similiar issues and can offer help.
Members SteveyDevey Posted January 3, 2006 Members Posted January 3, 2006 For the input problem, have you told windows that you want to use a different recording input? And for the jacks, the front jacks may be taking over for the back ones. I think my girlfriend's machine is that way; one or the other. Don't give up looking for a better explanation/solution though. I could easily be wrong, or it could be a different situation.

To check, go to the Volume Control Panel from your system tray. Go to Options and then select the Recording radio button. Make sure that Line in and Microphone or any other source that you want to record from are checked in the box, then click OK. Is the box at the bottom of the Line In section checked? If not, check it. If it is already checked, it's some other problem. It's worth a shot though.
