Members L-1329 Posted January 3, 2006 Members Posted January 3, 2006 I have been thinking a lot lately about how to minimize the amount of gear I use, and came up with this idea. For a live band, obviously with a decent pa, I just found out about this Eden floor angled 210. http://www.eden-electronics.com/products/cabs/indiv/d210mbx.asp How about one of these for me as a personal bass monitor, so I can actually hear myself, with a head like a GBE600, DI'd to the pa. As best as I can see, that would be really all I would need for a good house sound, and a good bass monitor to hear myself. Maybe one more for the drummer or other band members to hear as well. Any thoughts? Sure would be nice to cut down the size and bulk some, but then again I don't play out, so maybe it doesn't matter anyway.
Members whoneedstherapy Posted January 3, 2006 Members Posted January 3, 2006 The D210MBX apparently rocks out hard. If you mention this thing on the eden forum's you'd find there are alot of guys that love them exactly for the reason that they are hugely portable and for the size/weight they pack a huge punch (103db sensitivity) and coupled with the WT400 has been nicknamed the "baby thunder rig".I'd say it would be perfect for all intents and purposes.
Members Emprov Posted January 3, 2006 Members Posted January 3, 2006 As a stand alone bass monitor it'd be fantastic. It'd also probably handle smallish gigs by itself pretty well. If you didn't have PA support in larger venues you may need to add a second cab though. Keep in mind also that many in house PA's are really only OK (at best) for vocals and can't really be relied on to run everything through.
Members gazman Posted January 3, 2006 Members Posted January 3, 2006 How would it pair with a normal Eden 2x10?

I already have the rack, and if I found a place to play that was set up right, one of these may be all I would need. It would be very simple to pick one up and incorporate it into my rack. If not I still have the bigger rig(s), but it would sure be nice to leave that heavy stuff in the practice room, or sell it off and work up a more flexible system.

True dat! I got rid of my Ampeg 410's about a year and a half ago and I'm pretty darn close to completing my more flexable system. I'll take hauling a Schroeder 1210 over a 410 any day of the week.
