Members shelbass Posted January 3, 2006 Members Posted January 3, 2006 I Like this nice 75 reissue on the 'Bay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7379390152&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 This one is "Crafted in Japan" I think the Geddy Lee Jazz and Marcus Miller sig models are "Made in Japan" Is there a difference? Is this just Engrish or a marketing ploy?
Members gazman Posted January 3, 2006 Members Posted January 3, 2006 CIJ > MIJ. It was a process change in the mid 90's i believe. Not sure if you buy into titles or not, but there was a step up in terms of QA. At the same time if could also just be a marketing gimmick. FYI, check out www.globalvintage.com the owner Renee, is a top bloke, and handles all your fender/japanese questions!
