Members Thumpin5 Posted January 14, 2006 Members Posted January 14, 2006 Geddy's rig sounds so damn awesome... I play a MM5, SVT-4 Pro and 2 SWR 4x10 pro cabs. Could I get anywhere close to the tone that he has if I bought a sansamp peddle to add to my rig???
Members Thumpin5 Posted January 14, 2006 Author Members Posted January 14, 2006 Where are all the Geddy fans at...
Members johnnybassman Posted January 14, 2006 Members Posted January 14, 2006 Yeah, it's a great DVD. Looking forward to watching it again this weekend. Slightly of topic, I heard that they are going to release the concert videos for Exit Stage Left, Grace Under Pressure, and Show of Hands on DVD sometime next month. As far as his rig, IIRC he only uses that Sansamp rackmount thing (can't recall the name), and runs direct to the board from that. In fact, I don't think he's used an onstage amp since Counterparts, though I could be wrong.
Members 72Rick Posted January 14, 2006 Members Posted January 14, 2006 I'm sure with all that, you'll get somewhere, close who knows but definitely great! That's a fantastic way to noodle your way into a whole new "Your Sound"! Ya Man! I got R-30 for Christmas and Wholy Smokin' Joe!!!!! Whaaaa WHOOOOO!!!! Those guys still tear it up!
Members Thumpin5 Posted January 14, 2006 Author Members Posted January 14, 2006 Thanks for the input... Anybody else???
Members seraphim7s Posted January 14, 2006 Members Posted January 14, 2006 Geddy gets SO much love on this forum. They're a fantastic band in a Spinal Tap, music-as-comedy sort of way. Just trying to even things out

Members Ace Of Bass Posted January 14, 2006 Members Posted January 14, 2006 What keyboards does Geddy play these days? I know he used to use a lot of Moog pedals. Does he still use them, or MIDI pedals, or just have some backup musicians do the keys now?

Members filterthing Posted January 14, 2006 Members Posted January 14, 2006 Maybe because it is in a closed stadium, but I like the r30 show much better than the rio one. Just my opinion, which really means nothing. I do know that geddy is using an old dx7 as a controller for samplers and Roland sound modules. Rush is the best!
