Members wishful1 Posted January 14, 2006 Members Posted January 14, 2006 I found a forum some time ago on vintage harmony guitars. The owner (or possibly moderator) of the site was named Francois. I need some info from that site but I've misplaced the addy. Are any of you familiar with the site from the very little info I've given. Any help is appreciared. I am in the process of restoring an old harmony hollow body H-17. I'm trying to locate a pup or a source for a pup repair/rewind. Any suggestions?
Members Thumper Posted January 15, 2006 Members Posted January 15, 2006 eBay is a good bet for finding a replacement pup. As for rewinding, there are a couple of shops that do it. Guitar Doctor at www.guitardr.com Lindy Fralin at www.fralinpickups.com Rewinding service is not cheap, so be prepared. Good luck
Members wishful1 Posted January 15, 2006 Author Members Posted January 15, 2006 Thanks a lot guys- exactly what I was looking for! Thumper- I expect that it will be expensive for a rewind. I'll do that as a last resort though. I'll spring for the price (within reason)but I'll spend a little time trying to find a replacement first. The thing had a broken truss rod and I've already spent a good deal of time replacing it so I guess I'm past the point of no return now. It's awfully clean for it"s age and I'd hate to see it not finished. Thanks again.
