Members bassesofalessergod Posted January 19, 2006 Members Posted January 19, 2006 I haven't heard them yet, but they are getting tons of press..... I'm intrigued, but the whole canadia thing sounds a bit big edith for my taste.
Members greenshag Posted January 19, 2006 Members Posted January 19, 2006 no, but I have been listening to Horse the Band quite a bit...
Members venturawest Posted January 19, 2006 Members Posted January 19, 2006 i love 'em. i don't know why, they're too artsy and whatever, but pretty much every song on their latest album sticks in your head.
Members Oddsock Posted January 19, 2006 Members Posted January 19, 2006 I like them. They're very energetic.

Me too, even though I was almost a year late in getting the album. I'm looking forward to what they come out with next. But, how are Arcade Fire 'too artsy'?
Members BEAD Posted January 19, 2006 Members Posted January 19, 2006 I think their albums sound boring. I saw them live at a big festival last summer and thought their performance was boring too. There was some energy on stage, but most of it came from one guy beating the crap out of an unmiked cymbal.
Members Jazz Ad Posted January 19, 2006 Members Posted January 19, 2006 I can't say I really like them but they have their own style, it's a good thing.

Never heard of 'em at all, but owing to strange circumstances I'm going to check it out. Since we last met, I moved back to the itty-bitty town in which I grew up, only to find that there had indeed been an arcade fire. The place me and my compatriots would haunt instead of going to school is completely gone. Yep. 'Hazel's Pool Hall' and the building itself no longer exist, which is quite noticable in fact. (The town only had a thousand people in it 25 years ago, and since has swelled all the way to 1100!) No, today there is nothing but an empty space, but it lives on the memories of those who whiled away the hours, slipping out occasionally to suck down a cold one, burn a weed or to lob bottle rockets into the 'disco' across the street. This is proof that an Arcade Fire CAN be abad thing, but I'm not going to let the memories of a grumpy old fart prejudice me.
Members King Kashue Posted January 20, 2006 Members Posted January 20, 2006 I liked the first song of theirs I heard...and I guess that means I like all their songs, since they really only have that one that they recorded 12 times to make the album... And by the way... TOPICAL WEBCOMIC MAN STRIKES AGAIN!!!
Members samb Posted January 20, 2006 Members Posted January 20, 2006 Originally posted by greenshag no, but I have been listening to Horse the Band quite a bit... Eric, the keyboardist from Horse The Band tutored me in Math. Dig em.
