1964 Fender...great condition(?)

This Jazz Bass was originally a sunburst finish. In 1970 I had it customized in Los Angeles. We had compo added to the body and gold leafed it. Some has fallen off over the years. It can be removed, Fender will paint and restore the original sunburst finish, if desired, at buyers expense. Compo is a bread dough like material used in custom picture frame production. It is molded into decorations, and then applied to wood.

I was originally thinking that it must have had one of those plastic body protectors Fender made in the 1960's that got way hot and melted. Now I see the molding detail. Still. Ugh.

nah, it's worth about 1700 in parts alone.....

 

now if you guys saw my '64 P you'd all be like "Daaaaaaaamn".

 

The thing looks brand new. One of those under the bed for 40 years deals.
