CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted January 20, 2006 CMS Author Posted January 20, 2006 You'd think he would explain just what the {censored} is all over the sides. I woudn't touch that thing with a 10 foot pole.
Members hobobot009 Posted January 20, 2006 Members Posted January 20, 2006 It looks like he pulled it out of a septic tank and forgot to wipe it off.

Members johnny6644 Posted January 20, 2006 Members Posted January 20, 2006 The thing looks like it was dipped in poo, the seller has no feedback score and there are 10 bids! It's over $1,000!
Members JC Bass Posted January 21, 2006 Members Posted January 21, 2006 This Jazz Bass was originally a sunburst finish. In 1970 I had it customized in Los Angeles. We had compo added to the body and gold leafed it. Some has fallen off over the years. It can be removed, Fender will paint and restore the original sunburst finish, if desired, at buyers expense. Compo is a bread dough like material used in custom picture frame production. It is molded into decorations, and then applied to wood.
Members 82Daion Posted January 21, 2006 Members Posted January 21, 2006 I was originally thinking that it must have had one of those plastic body protectors Fender made in the 1960's that got way hot and melted. Now I see the molding detail. Still. Ugh.
