Members D Aussie Posted February 1, 2006 Members Posted February 1, 2006 With an outstanding first single and a bloody good first album, how is it that cold play has become the worlds second most boring band. Nickeleback, obviously strongly retaining that title. Its as though Cold Play have made a conscious effort to suck the life out of radiohead and U2 and release a single that sounds a bit like 'them' but not. Chris Martin is boring. A great voice and stuff.. but he must be stopped. Who is with me!
Members adaivi Posted February 1, 2006 Members Posted February 1, 2006 I prefere Coldplay to U2. For me U2 are the most boring band in the world, they should just retire and stop using Live 8 or whatever it's going to be next to keep people buying their records.
Members D Aussie Posted February 1, 2006 Author Members Posted February 1, 2006 Couldnt agree more, that U2 have become dull. But check out Boy and War and {censored} from that era and lets talk again.
Members loose_axle Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 I find their sound fuzzy and annoying.. my brother thinks they're great but I can't bear it, if you've heard one song on x & y you've heard every song on x & y imho...
Members BEAD Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 I think creed is even more boring than nickelback. Sometimes my boss listens to nickelback at work... it makes it harder to take him seriously.
Members januaryscar Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 Go here and watch nickelback walk off stage for having rocks thrown at them in Portugal. http://www.goyk.com/videos/?cat=21 As for coldplay, i wouldn't buy a record but they aren't bad compared to everything else on the radio.
Members One Bad Monkey Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 X&Y was a HUGE disappointment, especially coming after their live album. I don't know what changed, but damn man, that all went downhill quick.
Members james on bass Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 For some reason, I really like Cold Play's latest single. As for Nickleback, my band is picking songs to learn for later this week, and not one, but two Nickleback tunes got put on the list.

Early U2 is the best IMHO. They were new, took chances, and cared more about music than politics. I stopped buying their stuff after 'Achtung Baby.' I like some of the newer stuff, but it feels like their passion is gone (and so is my inclination to buy their later releases).
Members bassgirl9 Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 U2... I love. I could never say a bad word about them. I went to their concert and managed to get standing room front row center. Believe me, there's nothing boring about that band. Coldplay? Ya know other than Yellow, I've never really pounced on them. Nickelback? They're from Hannah which is about an hours drive from here. I have half a mind to go for a drive and drop some new lyrics off at their mama's house. I mean really!! They should be slapped.
Members Xanadu-PyRo Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 "you know how I know you're gay? Cuz you listen to coldplay" Coldplay sucks, so does U2.
Members 82Daion Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 I agree that early U2 is good. I can't stand Nickleback; something about the way their records are produced and the way the band sounds overall just repulse me. And their lyrics suck. Creed, 3 Doors Down, and bands of that ilk just flat-out bore me and/or make me hate their guts.

Lets stop talking about both U2 and coldplay in hopes that they go away forever.....then let us never speak of them again.
Members Undertoad Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 The bands I like are great. The bands I don't like are sucky! I feel strongly about this!
Members sunburstbasser Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 I can listen to limited amounts of Coldplay. I've played "In My Place" before. U2's old stuff isn't bad at all. I don't intend to buy it soon, but for will probably at least buy an album or two someday. Nickelback is a lot of good ideas executed very badly. Same with Creed. Both had everything it took to be awesome and didn't live up to it. Radiohead didn't have what it took, and did it anyway!
Members rx jr. Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 coldplay was bareable for the first 2 listens. after that it drove me crazy.
Members SoundwaveLove Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 Originally posted by Undertoad The bands I like are great. The bands I don't like are sucky!I feel strongly about this! I disagree!!!!
Members mounds Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 Coldplay doesn't bother me. Nickelback makes my head hurts, U2 makes my head hurt... I love Radiohead. haha.
Members der oxenrig Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 Their bassist Guy Berryman has good taste in gear, though!
Members 95thfoot Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 To all these bands: shut up and sing. What gave them the idea they could tell us how to live our lives and how to vote? What makes them smarter than their listeners? Answer: their egos.
Members B-Bottom Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 Cold Play is gay. simple as that
Members Deville Posted February 2, 2006 Members Posted February 2, 2006 Some of Coldplay's lyrics are good, but their music is repetitive and boring. I get frustrated just listening to them because I know they're talented enough to play music that's exciting and interesting. They choose to suck, and I think that sucks. Martin's uninspiring falseto can kiss my ass. I {censored}ing HATE Coldplay. I would pay good money to watch the guys from Aerosmith duct tape Chris Martin to a tree so Lug could rub his bare ass on Martin's face.
