Members Thunderbroom Posted February 11, 2006 Members Posted February 11, 2006 I'm suprised to be admitting this, but I just watched a clip on MSNBC's website regarding Michael Brown's testimony to the Senate regarding Hurricane Katrina's aftermath. The video link can be found on this page. It's kinda long, ~10 minutes, but I found his calling out of Senator Coleman to be spot on. Brown admits to making mistakes and has done so under oath. The Senator just kept on badgering him and badgering him. Brown finally told him, "I absolutely resent you sitting here saying that I lacked the leadership to do that, because I was down there pushing everything that I could. I've admitted to those mistakes. And if you want something else from me, put it on the table, and you tell me what you want me to admit to." This Senator said he'd prefer a little more candor and the quickly used the lameass excuse of "I think my time is up" and moved away from the microphone.
Members Bluescout Posted February 11, 2006 Members Posted February 11, 2006 As much as I'm a republican and have conservative values, more and more I think what goes on in Washington is rediculous. The two sides spend more time railing at each other than anything else. They seem to think making someone else wrong makes them right. Whether it's a republican grilling Brown or a democrat grilling Alito, they all have an agenda. end bipartisan rant.
Members Doff Posted February 11, 2006 Members Posted February 11, 2006 I wholeheartedly agree. Not that I personally have a better solution, but I'm not fond of our bipartisan political system at all. It's way too "us against them" and not enough "we're all leading this country together." Quit your {censored}ing bitching and get to work!! If all I did at work all day was point out how badly OTHER people in the shop were doing their job. I'd get my whiny, worthless ass kicked to the curb, and deservedly so. Kyle
